About Chelci
As a woman in the construction industry, I have built my career by consistently demonstrating that leadership, expertise, and results are not defined by gender, but by character, competence, and performance. I have earned the respect of clients, contractors, vendors, and colleagues by approaching every challenge with confidence, professionalism, and a commitment to finding solutions.
My leadership style combines strategic thinking with emotional intelligence. I understand that successful projects are not built solely through schedules, budgets, and processes; they are built through relationships, trust, and the ability to bring people together around a common goal. I have developed a reputation for remaining calm under pressure, navigating complex situations with professionalism, and making decisions that balance the needs of clients, teams, and business objectives.
One of my greatest strengths is the ability to see both the big picture and the critical details that drive project success. This mindset allows me to lead with confidence while maintaining flexibility in an industry where adaptability is essential.
I believe strong leadership is rooted in accountability, integrity, and continuous growth. Throughout my career, I have never been afraid to step into unfamiliar territory, take on new challenges, or create opportunities where others see obstacles. I view every challenge as an opportunity to learn, improve, and contribute at a higher level.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine operational excellence with genuine care for the people I work alongside. Whether leading teams, supporting clients, or collaborating with business partners, I strive to create an environment built on respect, transparency, and mutual success. I understand that lasting results are achieved when people feel valued, heard, and supported.

01What do you attribute your success to?
When I reflect on the success I have achieved throughout my career, there is no single factor that deserves the credit. Rather, it is the result of faith, family, mentorship, and a work ethic that was instilled in me from a young age.
First and foremost, I attribute my success to God. My faith has provided strength during difficult seasons, gratitude during successful ones, and the perspective to recognize that every opportunity comes with a responsibility to serve others well. Throughout my personal and professional journey, I have trusted that perseverance, integrity, and hard work would ultimately lead me where I was meant to be.
The foundation of my work ethic came from my father. He taught me a simple but powerful principle: if you're going to do something, do it right. While that philosophy may seem straightforward, it has shaped both my professional reputation and the standards I hold myself accountable to every day. He taught me that shortcuts may create temporary results, but consistency, accountability, and pride in your work create lasting success.
My two sons have also been one of the greatest driving forces behind everything I have accomplished. As a single mother, I understood that my responsibility extended far beyond providing financially. I wanted to demonstrate through my actions what perseverance, resilience, integrity, and determination look like in practice. Many of the goals I pursued were fueled by a desire to create opportunities for them and to show them that circumstances do not determine what is possible. Their presence in my life has continuously motivated me to push through challenges, remain focused on growth, and strive for excellence.
I am equally grateful for the mentors who have invested in me throughout my career. No one achieves success alone, and I have been fortunate to learn from leaders who challenged me to think bigger, develop new skills, and see potential in myself that I had not yet fully recognized. Their guidance, knowledge, and willingness to share their experience accelerated my growth and reinforced the importance of remaining teachable regardless of where you are in your career.
Throughout my professional journey, I have believed that quality, integrity, and accountability are non-negotiable. Customers continue to trust me because they know I will do everything possible to ensure a project is completed correctly. If challenges arise, they know I will communicate openly, take ownership, and work relentlessly toward a solution. That trust has become one of my most valuable professional assets, leading to long-term relationships, repeat business, and consistent referrals.
I have also learned that true work ethic cannot be driven solely by financial compensation. While financial success is important, lasting achievement comes from personal integrity, pride in your work, and a commitment to excellence regardless of who is watching. For me, work ethic is not something that changes depending on the circumstances; it is a reflection of character. The financial rewards are often the byproduct of consistently living those values over time.
My path has not followed a traditional blueprint. I have a high school education and some college coursework, but I did not earn a degree. I have spent much of my adult life balancing career growth with the responsibilities of raising two sons. Like many people, I have faced challenges that could have easily become excuses to settle for less. Instead, those experiences strengthened my resilience, sharpened my determination, and reinforced my belief that obstacles are often opportunities for growth.
Today, I recognize that every accomplishment is the result of many influences coming together: God's guidance, the example set by my father, the motivation provided by my sons, the wisdom shared by mentors, and an unwavering commitment to hard work and personal accountability. Those influences continue to shape who I am as a leader and as a person.
If my journey has demonstrated anything, it is that success is not reserved for those with perfect circumstances or traditional backgrounds. It is available to those who remain faithful, continue learning, work with integrity, and refuse to give up when challenges arise. Circumstances may influence the path, but they do not define the destination. With faith, discipline, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence, extraordinary growth is possible regardless of where you begin.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The best career advice I have ever received was simple: "Focus on becoming invaluable, not impressive."
Early in my career, I thought success came from having all the answers, proving myself, or being the smartest person in the room. A mentor challenged that mindset and explained that the people who build lasting careers are the ones who consistently solve problems, create value, and make life easier for the people around them. He told me that titles can be given, opportunities can come and go, but when people know they can trust you to deliver results, communicate honestly, and take ownership, you become someone they never want to lose.
That advice changed the way I approach my work. Instead of focusing on recognition, I focused on being dependable, learning continuously, building strong relationships, and finding solutions when others saw obstacles. Over time, I learned that opportunities often come from the reputation you build rather than the position you hold.
That lesson has been especially valuable in construction and project management, where trust, accountability, and execution matter more than promises. I have found that when you consistently create value, maintain integrity, and put the success of the project and the customer first, professional growth naturally follows.
