Her Story

About Chelsea

I've been in the tech industry for my whole career, over 15 years, and have been running a B2B influencer marketing and content creation agency for the last 10 years alongside my co-founder who is based in the UK. We work with clients like T-Mobile for Business, Microsoft, and IBM to help them create influencer-driven content such as video interviews, articles, and podcasts. We go to conferences and do large-scale campaigns or virtual content, varying based on what our clients' needs are. I handle everything from coordinating campaigns with over 200 tech influencers in our network to being the main point of contact for clients and running multi-million dollar campaigns per year, as well as managing our team of 8 members based in various locations. Running this agency for the past 10 years has been such a privilege and a huge accomplishment, being a female-owned business in a really male-dominated space in the tech industry, and being able to build and grow year over year.

Ten minutes with Chelsea

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work and really prioritizing connections and networking. I think dedication and just persevering through the tougher times has been critical. Just keep on going - whenever you hit challenges or setbacks, just keep on going, and amazing things can happen.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is just keep on going. Whenever you hit challenges or setbacks, just keep on going, and amazing things can happen.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say remain curious at all times and be adaptive. Learn as much as you can about all the tools, and as things change, especially in marketing, understand how to make the most of the tools available. Just constantly learning is key. I also want to mention that on LinkedIn, my DMs or my in-mails are open, and I'm more than happy to set up a Zoom call with any woman who would want to get advice or talk. I'm happy to share what I've learned and mentor others as well.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

In this field, there is a lot of noise and jargon in the tech space and a lot of fluff. I think what we do to help with that challenge is really break down these topics and work with our clients so that they can tell clear, crisp, human-led narratives. Storytelling is the biggest opportunity and challenge that we're seeing, which is where we really shine and come in and help tell those stories.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is most important to me - always operating with the utmost moral and ethical standards, at the highest level of integrity and transparency. From a business perspective, I think creativity and constantly pushing the boundaries is critical. Learning new tools and learning how to adapt has been essential for us. Obviously, the whole world is talking about AI right now, but really leaning into those sorts of tools and being adaptive has been critical. Being able to pivot and make changes and adapt to what is going on around us to take the most of all the opportunities is key.
