The best career advice I’ve received is that the knowledge, skills, and experience we carry are valuable. Recognizing my own professional worth has helped me step confidently into leadership roles and advocate effectively for both patients and teams.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering healthcare to make sure they truly care about the work they do. Genuine compassion and patience are what sustain you through challenging times and allow you to show up fully for patients, families, and colleagues.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field is ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time, particularly during transitions from inpatient settings to home. Success depends on effective coordination, communication, and making sure all aspects of care come together seamlessly after discharge.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Kindness and empathy are the values that guide both my professional and personal life. I believe healthcare is never about me—it is about the individual in front of me, their experience, and ensuring they feel supported, heard, and respected.
