Her Story

About Chelsea

I've been in my field for about 12 years, starting right out of college at a non-profit real estate company in Stamford. There, I handled all the accounting roles including AR/AP, bank reconciliations, and payroll. It was just me and my boss, so although it wasn't the most glamorous experience, it gave me a solid foundation. I then moved to Inspira Marketing doing traditional accounting work, and in 2020, I transitioned to our sister company Enthuse where I focus on client finance. In this role, I work directly with leadership and account directors, looking at their P&Ls and helping them make decisions based on the numbers and what needs to be reallocated. I'm the point of contact for account team members reviewing their current budget versus actuals. My main area of expertise is client finance, where I create dashboards and visuals for directors across all our programs and clients. For one of our programs with a field team of 250 people, we've moved from tracking in Excel to Tableau. I work on reporting and streamlining it so people can look into it at any point and have a better understanding of where the numbers are when they're having conversations with their clients. My most notable achievement has been moving into a role that was created for me to bridge the gap between accounting and finance and the account teams.

Ten minutes with Chelsea

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think just being surrounded by really smart and creative people who keep the bar high as far as the quality of work. I'm also driven by always delivering at the highest quality I can. A book that really resonates with me is Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara, which talks about how delivering unreasonable hospitality is something you can integrate into your role, no matter what it is. If you just deliver and exceed expectations, and also the way that everybody is treated in the work environment is just so important to delivering that unreasonable hospitality to whatever client or relationship. They just treat everybody with respect no matter what.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

High integrity, always doing the right thing, and being a reliable business partner to everybody I work with. I believe in delivering unreasonable hospitality and exceeding expectations in whatever I do. The way that everybody is treated in the work environment is so important to me, treating everybody with respect no matter what.
