Her Interview
Ten minutes with Chelsea
01What do you attribute your success to?
My infinite and cherished motivation to share my creativity as well encourage everyone's in this world.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
To make my own website back in 2000
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Please stay at ease in the breeze during the constant cacophony around you. Believe in yourself and your gift, and continue to share that but harness it for those who truly deserve and will benefit as well from the exchange.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Too many to list. Marketing is a major one. We can't be in full production mode while simultaneously putting 50% of ourselves into this. We need a helping hand. Artists struggle to promote themselves. We've been told through bitterness that we're not taken seriously, but they weren't capable of believing because of their own blockages. This also refers to the corporate world and the treatment of individuals in the work place; whether you're already hired and working there or up for show for another ridiculous, invasive interview that only benefits their own process within a system of their company. Challenges hit left and right hard; especially when people love my art and either steal and use it for their own advantages, haggle you for even more of a discount $ and undermine your worth while they greedily have a strong hold on their own wealth; usually handed over on a silver platter. I've been leached off of and shamed for my creative gifts and abundance of love and support for nearly 48 years to today; undermined by Cultural parasitism/ utilitarian hypocrisy dynamics. This is the daily grind in the soul of the Artist, and we just know from the beginning of our own existence that navigation is an essential part of the process and delivered through our creative exploration and production.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Authenticity, open-mindedness and flexibility to the organic flow, absolute pure passion, dedication, and channeling a safe space to create within.
