I am a staffing and talent acquisition professional with over a decade of experience in the multifamily housing industry, specializing in temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct hire staffing solutions across the Northeast region. Throughout my career, I have built strong relationships with both clients and candidates by providing dependable support, responsive communication, and customized staffing strategies for a wide variety of communities and property types.

Over the years, I have received several sales production awards for my performance and success in placing top talent in hard-to-fill markets. I take pride in my ability to understand the unique needs of each client while also helping candidates find opportunities where they can grow and succeed long term.

My experience includes supporting lease-ups, student housing, LIHTC, and Section 8 communities, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the multifamily industry and the operational challenges property management teams face. What motivates me most is building authentic, lasting relationships and helping connect great people with meaningful career opportunities.

I am passionate about delivering results, supporting teams during critical hiring periods, and making a lasting impact within the industry through professionalism, consistency, and strong partnerships.

Ten minutes with Chelsea

01What do you attribute your success to?

I did not come from a perfect upbringing. I was raised by a single mother who worked incredibly hard to give me the best life and future she possibly could. Watching her sacrifice, persevere, and continue pushing forward no matter the obstacles taught me what true strength and work ethic look like. She became my greatest example of resilience, leadership, and determination, and I will always be grateful for everything she provided for me.

Because of the way I was raised, I have always believed that life is what you make of it. I never allowed my circumstances, lack of connections, or not having a college degree define what I was capable of achieving. Instead, I used those challenges as motivation to work harder, push myself further, and create opportunities for myself. Through perseverance, dedication, and believing in my own potential, I built a successful career in an industry where I have exceeded what many people told me was possible.

At the same time, I have learned that success is not only about hard work, but also about relationships and the people who believe in you along the way. If it were not for a woman working at an agency whose child attended my sister’s daycare, I may never have discovered this career path, and if it were not for Jenny believing in me and giving me an opportunity, my life could have looked very different today.

My journey has taught me that opportunity can come from the most unexpected places, and that with determination, strong relationships, and belief in yourself, you can completely change the direction of your life.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best pieces of career advice I have ever received came from my mentor, Rebecca, who is an expert in the staffing industry. She once told me, “Water your own grass and do not worry if the grass looks greener on the other side.” That advice has stayed with me throughout my career and personal life. It taught me the importance of focusing on my own growth, investing in my own goals, and appreciating the opportunities in front of me instead of constantly comparing myself to others. That mindset has helped shape my work ethic, confidence, and long-term success within the industry.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

One of the biggest pieces of advice I would give young women entering the multifamily and staffing industry is to believe in your value before anyone else does. This industry can be fast-paced, demanding, and competitive, but confidence, consistency, and work ethic will take you further than you realize. You do not need to come from a perfect background or have a traditional path to build a successful career. What matters most is your willingness to learn, adapt, and show up every single day.

I would also tell them to focus on building genuine relationships. In this industry, your reputation becomes your resume. The way you treat clients, candidates, maintenance teams, leasing professionals, and coworkers matters. People remember reliability, professionalism, and authenticity. Some of the greatest opportunities in my career came from relationships and connections I never expected.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges is the ongoing labor shortage, particularly in skilled maintenance, HVAC, and experienced leasing talent. Communities are expecting more from employees while many teams are still operating lean, which creates burnout, turnover, and urgency around hiring. You have probably also seen how difficult it has become to find reliable part-time or entry-level talent willing to work for lower wages, especially when expectations for experience remain high. The multifamily industry is also navigating economic pressure. Many ownership groups and management companies are trying to control budgets while still maintaining occupancy, resident satisfaction, and property standards. That puts pressure on staffing agencies and onsite teams to do more with fewer resources, especially during peak leasing season. There is tons of opportunities in leadership and mentorship. Younger professionals entering the industry are looking for guidance from people who have real-world experience and authenticity. Your story, work ethic, and career growth position you as someone who can mentor and influence others while continuing to grow professionally yourself.

Lastly, technology and social branding are creating new opportunities within staffing. Professionals who can combine relationship-building with personal branding, networking, and digital communication are gaining visibility faster than ever. Your ability to communicate authentically and build trust gives you a strong advantage in that space as well.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are integrity, honesty, and love. These guide both my professional work and my personal life. As a single mom to two toddlers, I spend a lot of our time adventuring in the Rocky Mountains, doing pool days in the summer, and my kids ride horses - we live in a very rural town of Colorado that's actually called Horse Country, so we do a lot of things with horses out here. I'm also a concert enthusiast and love rocking out and going to concerts. These activities with my family and the values I hold keep me grounded and motivated.
