Her Story
About Chelsey
I graduated in 2007 with a CPA and began my career doing financial statement audits for about four years before moving into internal audit and consulting. I am now a senior director at a global consulting firm helping financial institutions with their consumer compliance programs. My work in domestic anti-human trafficking started when I lived in Houston and led me to help found a nonprofit after moving to the Virginia D.C. area where I serve as acting CFO using my CPA license.

Ten minutes with Chelsey
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to hard work and diligence.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Live your best life. Work is always going to be here and there will always be firms interested in what you have to offer, but live your life before you settle down into your regular work life. Don't get so wrapped up in work that you can't have impact in other spaces of your life.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges for both fields are around the political and regulatory environment, helping those responsible for making decisions to be fully educated on the options and the impact of those decisions.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity and being a leader that values people more than professional success.
