Cheri Plaza

Cheri Plaza serves as the manager of environmental health and safety at her site for Anito Aveisha Pharma Services in Irvine, California. She has spent eight years in the environmental health and safety field, working across aerospace and pharmaceuticals, and has been with her current employer for two years. Originally pursuing pre-med studies with an interest in medical research and helping others, she transitioned after recognizing financial barriers and found her path in Environmental Health and Safety and Health Sciences at Cal State Fullerton. Her main expertise lies in health and safety, though as the only EHS professional at her site she handles environmental, health, and safety programs comprehensively. She focuses on onboarding pharmaceuticals safely, responding to incidents, and developing programs that allow business to advance while protecting employees. Cheri has received internal recognition for handling emergency situations effectively and moving initiatives forward safely. She previously served as president of the student chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals and has volunteered with Families Forward collection events and Laguna Canyon Foundation trail cleanings.
