About Cherisa
Cherisa Murphy brings more than 25 years of experience in health insurance to her current role as a consultant specializing in payer consulting. She began her career in customer service and later held positions at CVS Health and Aetna until the end of 2024. Since then, she has been working with different companies on health insurance projects, leveraging her broad knowledge across the industry. Murphy earned her undergraduate degree and MBA from the University of North Florida, after starting her studies at the University of Florida on scholarship. In 2024, she led a team whose efforts were a deciding factor in securing a $125 million account. She is a board member of the Cathedral Arts Project and a member of Women's Business Leaders in healthcare.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Do not discount entry-level roles as they build the foundation for future career growth. The skills from servicing people in customer service became the platform for all later roles. Focus on learning in the moment rather than only chasing the next big move.
