About Cheryl
Cheryl Gyant is a hospitality sales leader, entrepreneur, author, and nonprofit founder dedicated to helping both businesses and communities thrive. As the founder and principal consultant of Simply Hospitality, she works with hotels to increase revenue through strategic sales initiatives, business development, corporate account acquisition, group sales, and community partnerships. Drawing on more than two decades of hospitality experience, she has progressed from hotel operations and sales coordination roles to leadership positions, earning recognition as Director of Sales of the Year before launching her own consulting firm.
Beyond her work in hospitality, Gyant is the founder of Roots of Rose Community Development Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to supporting foster children and families through mentorship, outreach, and enrichment programs. Through initiatives such as Books & Bikes for Foster Kids, Juicy’s Birthday Bash, and the KidStage After School Drama Program, she creates opportunities for children to build confidence, express themselves creatively, and develop skills that contribute to long-term success. Her mission is rooted in empowering young people, particularly those affected by foster care, with the resources and support they need to heal and flourish.
An advocate for resilience and personal growth, Gyant is also the author of *A Letter From Sherry*, a deeply personal book inspired by her late birth mother’s story. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Wayne State University and is currently studying psychology at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, with a focus on trauma, child development, and foster care support. Through her work as a speaker, business owner, nonprofit leader, and author, Gyant continues to inspire others while advancing her mission of healing, hope, and opportunity for vulnerable children and families.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be a beam of light. That is so important to anything that I'm doing whether it's being a beam of light to a child. Every child needs at least one person to believe in them. Also applies for my hotels. Be kind and give everyone grace.
