Her Interview

Ten minutes with Cheryl

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success is due to my parents and my upbringing. My dad was military and my mom was a teacher. They were very solid people and provided a strong foundation.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Be patient. I want to get things done and do the right things, but getting them done through people requires patience.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Work hard. Master your craft, whatever that is, and stay principled. You'll figure that out pretty quickly.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include maintaining principles and integrity when asked to do things that compromise them. Opportunities came from mentors who called with job opportunities I might not have known about otherwise.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Respect, honesty, being a principled person, hard work, and kindness are most important. I never compromise my principles.
