Her Interview
Ten minutes with Cheyenne
01What do you attribute your success to?
Outside of education, it's just getting real-life experience. I think specifically with events, every day is going to look different, so go into it with a positive mindset and a can-do mindset, and you'll come out successful every time.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
It's okay to take a step back when your intention is to take two steps forward. I constantly have the mindset of growth and wanting to do better, and that's not always going to be the case in real life, so I think I'm constantly trying to do better, and every now and then I'll get a setback. And I think it's okay to take a step back and with the hopes of something greater coming from it.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Always lead with confidence. And if you don't have it, fake it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is probably the oversaturation in event planners, but for specifically for corporate event planning, I would say it's really hard to get in the door. I think it's easier once you're in the door, but that initial crack through the door is hard, so just stay persistent.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, human connection, reliability, and organization keeps me afloat, so I value that as well.
