About Cheyenne
Cheyenne Mooney serves as Ambulatory Operations Manager at Cooper University Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in New Jersey. In this role, she manages an office encompassing five service lines, including internal medicine, GI, endo, addiction medicine, and behavioral health, along with about 50 providers. She has been with Cooper for approximately one and a half years and brings roughly eight years of experience in the medical field, having started as a front desk receptionist at Brandywine Pain Management before running an urgent care. Her expertise centers on ambulatory operations, business operation management, team collaboration, and patient care. Mooney holds three Bachelor of Science degrees in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, Psychology with a specialty in mental health disorders, and Philosophy. She is currently working toward Six Sigma certification and has received recognition for exceeding metrics on employee evaluations. Outside her professional duties, she participates in charity work through Cooper University Hospital, supports Sanfilippo disease charity events in Delaware, and donates to animal rescues.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
You've survived 100% of your worst days already. Careers are hard, especially with personal lives going on and everything in this industry, so just pushing for it and making sure to treat people as human beings.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Have a little bit of tough skin and be empathetic. In healthcare you're dealing with people who are sick. Don't be discouraged if you start at the lower end of things because there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
