Her Interview
Ten minutes with Chiana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family background, the strong women who have mentored and inspired me, and the foundation I built through learning family recipes and techniques. Combining those traditions with hands-on kitchen experience, working alongside ACF-accredited chefs, and applying my formal education has helped shape my skills and approach to the culinary industry.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women entering the culinary industry to develop confidence and resilience. The kitchen can be a challenging environment, especially in a traditionally male-dominated field, but never allow anyone to make you doubt your abilities. Trust your skills, continue improving, and remember that your talent and dedication will always speak for themselves.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Giving back to the community is one of the most important values in my work and personal life. I believe in using food as a way to support others, whether through donating meals to homeless youth or helping ensure students have access to nutritious meals. A good meal can provide comfort, stability, and encouragement, especially for those facing difficult circumstances.
