Her Interview
Ten minutes with Chloe
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to having a strong desire to not only help clients but help those around me, whether that's my coworker or boss. I really like not talking but showing how I'm valuable. It's about being okay with people telling you no and leaning on the support you have. The success of the people around you helps as well, and I produce results.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You do not need them. You can't do it because you don't have a college degree, or you're young and you have a baby, or you were raised in a rural area, or you were raised in a trailer park, we don't want you on the seventh floor. You have to learn to know if you don't need that employer, you don't need that job, you're gonna think better, you're gonna do better, you're gonna outsmart them. Confidence, common sense, asking questions, and never questioning your gut. Women have the greatest intuition, and the best thing you can do in this industry is to listen to that.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges I face are those stigmas, those first impressions. Borrowers can look at women and treat women a few ways. If they're wealthy, they sometimes think you're too much. A lot of those older, wealthier male borrowers do still prefer a male. We have to work harder so our employer can see it and know that we do have a right to be here in this race because this industry is complex.
