About Chrissy
Chrissy Davis-Allen, ND, is a Registered Naturopathic Doctor with more than two decades of experience in naturopathic and holistic medicine. She earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from Bastyr University in Seattle in 2001, following a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology with a minor in Latin American Studies from St. Lawrence University. Originally from the East Coast, Davis-Allen returned to Connecticut after completing her doctoral education, where she began her professional career and established roots in both naturopathic medicine and family life.
During her 13 years as a general practitioner in Connecticut, Davis-Allen worked alongside chiropractors and focused on educating the community about naturopathic medicine while developing a family-centered practice that served patients across multiple generations. After relocating to Colorado with her family, she expanded her practice through telehealth and began incorporating more specialized areas of care. Her work has included exploring the relationship between the microbiome, mental health, nutrition, and overall wellness, allowing her to bring an integrative perspective to behavioral health and lifestyle-focused care. She currently practices both virtually and in person in Colorado while continuing to maintain her Connecticut practice and traveling between the two states.
Davis-Allen is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Colorado Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and the Gastroenterology Association and P (as listed in her professional information). Her professional interests include naturopathic medicine, holistic health, nutrition, microbiome health, behavioral wellness, and healthy lifestyle practices. Beyond her clinical work, she contributes to her community through her involvement with her daughter's competitive high school soccer program, where she serves as a soccer manager.

Ten minutes with Chrissy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the experiences, relationships, and continued growth throughout my 25-year career in naturopathic medicine. After graduating from Bastyr University in Seattle in 2001, I spent my first 13 years practicing in Connecticut, where I built a family-centered practice and developed a strong foundation in patient care and community education. Moving to Colorado challenged me to adapt and expand my approach, leading me to embrace telehealth and focus more deeply on the connections between the microbiome, mental health, nutrition, and behavioral health. Each stage of my journey has taught me the importance of staying curious, adapting to the evolving needs of my patients, and remaining committed to making a meaningful difference in their lives.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received came from the teachers and mentors who inspired me to advocate for and contribute to the natural health care system, including Dr. Michael Murray and Dr. Perzono, who were instrumental in the development of Bastyr University. Their passion for naturopathic medicine encouraged me to remain committed to the profession, continue learning, and stand up for the value of integrative approaches to health. That guidance has stayed with me throughout my career and continues to influence my commitment to professional growth, collaboration, and active involvement in organizations that advance naturopathic medicine, including the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Colorado Association, and the Gastro A&P, a gut-focused association of naturopathic physicians.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this field is to recognize that you can build a rewarding and fulfilling career while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Stay committed to your values, remain open to learning, and develop strong relationships with colleagues and patients. With dedication, compassion, and a willingness to grow, you can create a career that is both professionally successful and personally meaningful.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is balancing the demands of being a working mother with the responsibilities of running my own practice. Managing patient care, administrative responsibilities, professional growth, and family commitments requires organization, flexibility, and intentional time management. At the same time, I see this balance as an opportunity to continue growing both personally and professionally, while building a practice that reflects my values and allows me to provide meaningful, patient-centered care.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are making a meaningful difference in the lives of others, advocating for my patients, and promoting a collaborative approach to health and wellness. I am passionate about natural health, particularly the microbiome and traditional medicine approaches, and I believe the philosophy behind Symbiosis Natural Health reflects the importance of balance, connection, and working together. I value collaboration among healthcare professionals, including chiropractors, massage therapists, osteopaths, medical doctors, and behavioral health practitioners, because effective communication and coordination can lead to more comprehensive care and better outcomes for patients. I also believe strongly in advocating for individuals who may have difficulty expressing their needs and ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed. Outside of my professional work, family is a central part of my life, and I enjoy supporting my daughter through her competitive high school soccer team while making time for family responsibilities.
