About Christa

Christa Day is the Treasurer of Harrison County, serving in an elected government role that she has held for four years with re-election upcoming. A 2005 graduate of Indiana University Southeast, she balances her responsibilities with active participation in professional associations. She serves as secretary of the Indiana County Treasurer Association and will advance to treasurer the following year, while also contributing to the state legislative committee. Additionally, Christa holds the position of finance chairperson on the Leadership Harrison County board, where she supports a youth class and community initiatives such as fundraising for shelter resources. She remains engaged with her children's school through tennis and cheer boosters clubs and attends two annual conferences for ongoing training in her field.

Being involved in your community, serving others makes you a better leader. Everyone should want to share and, contribute to make your community better.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career and advice I ever received was always do your best and don’t give up on your goals.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

There are opportunities everyday. Do not let anyone hold you back from achieving your dreams. Don’t settle for less. Always work harder than others around you..

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There are many opportunities to run for office. There is a need for good female leadership who want to guide and not follow the systems and practices that have always been in place.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My faith and values are very important to me. Faith influence who I am as a person and the decisions I make. Always treat others as you want to be treated. Be respectful, open and honest. Don’t say I can’t but find a way to make things happen.
