Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my genuine passion for supporting both students and teachers. I began my career as an assistant manager and substitute teacher, and through dedication and hard work, I’ve worked my way up to my current role as Assistant Principal, a position I’ve held for nine years. I truly love what I do, and that love for helping others continues to drive me every day.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that I have the ability to achieve extraordinary things and that my skills can be used to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and within my community. That perspective has always reminded me to lead with purpose and stay focused on the impact I can have, not just in my career, but in the lives I touch along the way.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this field is to always stay committed to learning. Never stop growing—there is always something new to discover, a new skill to master, or a new perspective to gain. Continuous learning not only sharpens your abilities but also positions you to lead with confidence and adapt in an ever-changing educational landscape.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges—and also one of the greatest opportunities—in my field is making a meaningful impact on every student I encounter. Each student has unique needs, and finding ways to support them individually is both rewarding and demanding. At the same time, I continually challenge myself to keep growing professionally, which is why I'm currently pursuing my doctoral degree. Staying committed to learning allows me to better serve my students, my staff, and my school community.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me—both in my work and personal life—are spirituality, collaboration, purpose, and impact. I’m deeply committed to making a difference in the lives of my students and supporting the teachers I work alongside. My fiaI believe in working together as a team to create an environment where everyone can thrive. When we unite around the goal of delivering excellent education, we set the stage for real, lasting success.
