About Christabel Elinsa

Christabel Nyange is an attending physician and cardiologist practicing in New York, NY. She completed her medical degree at Roth University School of Medicine in 2018, followed by residency and fellowship training, and has served as an attending physician for the past two years. Her clinical focus includes helping patients manage cardiac problems as well as preventative cardiology, with a typical day involving outpatient clinic visits for approximately 20 patients. Nyange is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and maintains memberships in the Association of Black Cardiologists and the American Heart Association. Originally from Tanzania, her interest in cardiology was sparked by the limited availability of specialists in her home country. She is currently developing a virtual practice and a patient-facing app to track vitals, medications, and related health metrics.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't have too much expectation for anything. Go in with an open mind, you'll learn a lot and see things from a different perspective.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be open to being a student. Medicine or anything in life, you never stop learning. Be open-minded, nobody knows everything. Accept that there's a learning opportunity in every scenario and encounter.
