About Christina

Christina Smith is the owner and CEO of Premier Leaders property management company, which she founded five years ago following 25 years in the industry. She oversees operations for a diverse portfolio that includes medical use properties such as dental offices, surgery centers, and pain clinics, along with multifamily apartments and single family homes. As a single mother who started the business during a divorce, she has carried a heavy workload while building the company and now focuses on delegating responsibilities to step into a true CEO role, with plans to transition to remote work and travel in the coming years. Smith attributes her success to her determination to create a legacy for her children and grandchildren, having grown up without money and refusing to repeat that pattern. She identifies being a woman in a male-dominated field as her primary challenge, noting that women must be strong and assertive to be taken seriously, and she encourages other women entering the industry to persist, take risks, seek mentors with greater knowledge, and move beyond their comfort zones to achieve growth.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Christina

01What do you attribute your success to?

My family, without a doubt. I didn’t grow up with money, and I knew I wanted to create a different future for my children and grandchildren. I wanted to build something that would last long after I’m gone—a legacy that gives my family opportunities I didn’t have growing up.

Building a career and eventually my own company hasn’t always been easy. There have been long days, sacrifices, and plenty of moments when I had to figure things out as I went. But I refused to let my circumstances determine my future.

Sometimes I look back at everything I’ve accomplished and think, Oh my gosh, I really did it.

And I’m not done yet. My children, my grandchildren, and the generations that come after them will always be my greatest motivation. I want to leave them more than money. I want to leave them a strong foundation, opportunities, and the belief that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Do it. Don’t just talk about it. Keep your head down, put in the work, take the risks, and believe in yourself. Failure isn’t falling short—it’s never having the courage to try

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don’t give up. Failure isn’t falling short—it’s never trying. Be willing to take risks, stand up for yourself, and believe in what you’re capable of. The more you show up and believe in yourself, the more others will believe in you, too. Surround yourself with people who have more knowledge and experience than you, and never be afraid to learn from them. Most importantly, step outside your comfort zone. If you’re comfortable, you’re not growing.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is being a woman in a male-dominated industry. Women are often overlooked or underestimated until they have the opportunity to prove themselves. I’ve learned that you have to be strong, confident, and willing to stand your ground. You can’t be afraid to speak up, take charge, and make your presence known. I believe in leading by example and letting my work speak for itself.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are integrity, family, loyalty, hard work, and accountability. I believe in doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching, and treating people with respect, regardless of their position or background.

In business, my word means everything. I believe in leading by example, taking ownership of my decisions, and never asking someone to do something I wouldn’t be willing to do myself. I value the relationships I’ve built and believe that trust and credibility are earned through actions, not words.

Personally, family will always come first. Everything I’m building is about creating a strong foundation and a lasting legacy for my children, grandchildren, and generations to come. I also believe in staying humble, continuing to learn, and helping others succeed along the way.

Success means more to me when I can use it to create opportunities for others, not just myself.
