What do you attribute your success to?
In addition to the values of work ethic and respect instilled by my parents, I credit much of my professional development to my first supervisor, Gunther Felske. His traditional yet patient leadership encouraged precision, accountability, and perseverance, shaping my commitment to high standards and excellence in the workplace.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
In HR, lead with a servant’s heart. Don’t chase a paycheck—choose work that honors your values and protects your integrity.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay true to yourself and always use your voice, no matter who you’re speaking with. Believe in your abilities, focus on the fundamentals, and take the time to listen to others. Remember, you are there to help, and it’s important not to take things personally.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest challenges organizations face today is the shortage of skilled talent.
At the same time, a significant opportunity exists: developing apprenticeship programs that equip individuals with the skills needed to thrive in the workforce.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, resilience, leadership, and loyalty. One moment I am particularly proud of is when I received a call on Christmas from our General Manager about the company facing bankruptcy. Despite the challenges, she was able to keep the team together—no one left—and they successfully built a new structure as a new owner took over. This experience reinforced for me the importance of staying committed, supporting your team, and navigating challenges with integrity and perseverance.
