About Christie

Christie Jones is a self-employed events manager in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she takes on contract roles coordinating events. With more than 20 years in the field, she began managing events during her undergraduate studies at Wilkes University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Marketing in 2006. Jones is currently pursuing a master's degree in Nonprofit Administration from Louisiana State University, with an expected graduation in 2026, to support her launch of Christie's Phoenix House Philadelphia, a nonprofit providing resources for domestic violence survivors. She draws inspiration from her volunteer work mentoring residents and cooking for them at Phoenix House in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Among her notable professional achievements, Jones coordinated the White Coat match event for approximately 250 graduating students at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, creating a memorable experience with biographies displayed on screens during a cocktail hour and three-course meal. She also runs marathons, including the Philadelphia and New York City Marathons, to raise funds for Blood Cancer United. Jones emphasizes pouring her heart and soul into every task, whether serving tables or washing plates, and shares this advice with others.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to pour my heart and soul into everything it is that I do. Give it everything I've got. Don't half-ass anything. And it's the same advice that I give to other people. If I'm serving a table, you're gonna be treated like the queen of the world. If I'm washing a plate, there's not gonna be one single spot left on a plate.
