Her Story

About Christie

Christie Sikora is an author, historian, researcher, and founder of the Dynamism to Peace International Foundation. Based in Costa Mesa, California, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from California State University, Long Beach, and has developed a career centered on historical research, nonfiction writing, education, and the exploration of social and geopolitical issues. Her work reflects a strong interest in understanding how historical events, human experiences, and cultural perspectives shape contemporary society.

Sikora is the author of BLOOD and GOLD: Athletes, Tragedies and Dynamism to Peace, an extensively researched nonfiction work examining the 1972 Munich Olympics through the experiences of athletes, officials, victims, and Palestinians. The book explores the broader historical and political context surrounding the tragedy, including racism, Nazism, the Cold War, geopolitical tensions, corruption, humanitarian concerns, and the lasting human consequences of conflict. Through historical analysis and personal perspectives, Sikora seeks to challenge conventional narratives and encourage deeper understanding of events that continue to influence international relations and public discourse.

As founder of the Dynamism to Peace International Foundation, Sikora advances a vision of peace centered on communication, truth, justice, empathy, education, equality, and cultural understanding. Her framework, known as “Dynamism to Peace,” emphasizes positive transformation, resilience, forward movement, and constructive dialogue rather than violence. Despite encountering significant challenges in the publishing process, including numerous editorial errors that required her to relaunch her book, Sikora has remained committed to her work and its broader mission of promoting understanding and amplifying voices in the pursuit of global peace.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is not to be discouraged by challenges. I persevered through the difficulties surrounding my book and remained committed to seeing it through.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering my industry to be very careful about who they trust as a publisher. Choose someone whose voice, perspective, and guidance you respect, because their influence matters.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been dealing with publishing issues, including discovering more than 100 punctuation and grammar errors in my book. This led me to relaunch the book and reinforced the importance of quality control and choosing the right publisher.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Curiosity, continuous learning, and understanding are important to me. I value learning about the history of this country and others, as well as exploring why people think and behave the way they do.
