About Christina
Every morning, I start my day by reviewing all the operational and maintenance topics that happened overnight, since we're open 24 hours. I make sure there wasn't anything environmentally that needs to be addressed. I manage our wastewater treatment plant, talking with my operators and checking in to see how things are running. We also have a landfill, so I check in with those operators as well. I touch base with my team and managers of other areas to see if there's anything we need to work on together. I'm responsible for reporting all of our data and making sure our laboratory stays accredited with the state so we can run some of the tests ourselves that we report monthly to the EPA. We have lots of spreadsheets where we track data, and I go through to make sure we're tracking things correctly. What I love most about this job is that I get to work with people, but I also get to be out in the field. Every day, I get to go out and check on the ponds or look at our outfall. I get to see animals because we have over 100 acres, so I see deer and birds - it's almost like having access to a wildlife center sometimes. I might spend time at my desk working on spreadsheets, but then I'll head out and be outside for at least an hour checking on things. This is truly a dream job for me.
