Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the many lived experiences along this beautiful journey of my life. My very supportive parents, becoming a young mom and wife, further pursuit of my degrees later in life, mentoring others, and most importantly my spiritual guidance which has led me to this work of helping others.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is that my power is in the things I can control and to let my spirit control the things that I cannot. This advice has helped me navigate the stress of juggling being a published author, high-level professional, wife, mom, friend.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering any industry is to believe in yourself. I was a finance executive for many years. When I was asked to apply for the role in hospital administration, I thought there is no way! How does a finance professional make such a large career change? Through furthering my education, even when I could not financially afford it. Through hard work and shifting my mind-set from I can't into I can. This mindset has completely changed my life. Be proud of yourself and go for it. There is always a way to make it happen.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is that the work can be extremely mentally taxing and emotionally draining. The opportunity is self-care, and it is imperative. I open each day with gratitude and fall asleep to a guided meditation. I love to travel, cook, spend time with family and friends and my newest focus which is my newly published book. Creating a culture that you live by is key. Work-Life Balance is an important part of life and the work we do.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are family, helping others professionally and witnessing their growth, and sharing my insights through my upcoming book, Protecting Children Through Divorce. For me, helping others is extremely rewarding. It makes me feel whole and complete.
