Her Story
About Christina
Christina Avery serves as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the Sharpsburg-Newnan, Georgia area. She has practiced for five years after transitioning from a career as a hairstylist and cosmetology instructor, where client conversations inspired her interest in guiding people to process their thoughts and discover their own solutions. The loss of her brother, a military service member who died by suicide in 2012, further motivated her focus on supporting military families, active duty service members, and issues of suicidality. Avery earned a Bachelor of Science in Business, which she applies in therapy through tools such as SWOT analysis, and she is three classes from completing her doctorate in behavioral health leadership. Certified as a National Certified Counselor by NBCC, she integrates Christian principles, positive affirmations, and the catch-check-change technique to help clients reframe their perspectives. She works with patients of all ages except children and plans to open a community clinic offering interactive and art therapies.
