Her Story
About Christina
I work in recruitment, where I've witnessed firsthand how technology is transforming our industry. My daily work involves building job descriptions and working with clients, and I've adapted to use AI tools that have dramatically improved my efficiency. What used to take me 4 hours to create from scratch now takes 30 seconds to generate and just 5 minutes to edit. While I admit I'm a little bit anti-technology in my personal life (my friends joke that I don't know what the Apple Cloud is), I've embraced AI as a critical tool in my professional work. I believe strongly that AI isn't replacing jobs but changing them, and that professionals who use AI to drive efficiencies and stay ahead of the curve will prove they deserve their positions. I recommend that everyone in white-collar or office jobs dedicate time to learning AI capabilities, whether through online classes or simply asking AI itself how it can help improve your specific role.

01What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think the biggest challenge is staying ahead of the curve with AI, and that's something all women who work in white-collar or office jobs are going to face. Admittedly, I'm a little bit anti-technology, which is funny because I use it all day every day with my job. When it comes to AI, it's a really interesting thing because it's a tool that has really benefited my life. I used to spend 4 hours building a job description from scratch, and now I can plug in notes from a client call and within 30 seconds I have a job description that takes me 5 minutes to edit. The most important thing to do is keep yourself abreast of where the market trends are going. What I've found is that AI is not replacing jobs, it is changing jobs. If you can use AI to be congruent with what you do and drive efficiencies, you're actually going to prove more that you deserve the job because you're able to be ahead of the curve. There are classes you can take online for AI to learn its capabilities. You could even type into AI, 'Hey, I do this role and I would like to expand what I do using AI. What are some suggestions?' And it can build it out for you. If you aren't willing to utilize AI, you are going to be left behind. It's like in the 90s where maybe the baby boomers were saying I don't want the internet, I don't want a cell phone. My number one recommendation would be to focus on that and make time, even if it's an hour a week, to focus on how you're staying ahead of the trends and changes. Maybe you're plugging onto LinkedIn to see what AI news articles are, or just simply asking it how you can get better in your job capacity.
