Her Interview
Ten minutes with Christina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to God and my mother, who was a successful businesswoman and a supervisor in the financial department of the United States Postal Service. She was one of my biggest cheerleaders before she passed away, and her support continues to inspire me. Much of what I do is driven by my desire to make her proud.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I would share is to believe in yourself, keep learning, and never give up when challenges arise. My journey from computer science to bookkeeping taught me to remain open to new opportunities and embrace unexpected paths. My mother’s encouragement also inspired me to trust my abilities and continue working toward my goals.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to believe in themselves and take the first step toward their goals, whether through education, certifications, or new opportunities. Do not be afraid of failure; learn from it, get back up, and keep pushing forward. Persistence and confidence are key to achieving success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is a lack of awareness, as many businesses do not realize they need a bookkeeper or fully understand the value of bookkeeping services. However, the growing number of entrepreneurs presents exciting opportunities to connect with potential clients through networking and everyday conversations about taxes and financial management.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, honesty, and hard work are the values I prioritize in both my professional and personal life. My word is my bond, and I believe in doing things right and giving my best in everything I do. I value transparency and accountability, ensuring that my actions reflect my commitment to doing what is right.
