About Christina
Christina McKitish is a seasoned middle school educator, 500-hour certified yoga instructor, and founder of Journey Forward Yoga. Based in the Greater Boston area, she has dedicated nearly two decades to public education teaching middle school social studies in Hudson Public Schools.
Known for creating engaging, student-centered learning environments, Christina is passionate about helping others develop confidence, self-awareness, and the skills needed to navigate life's challenges. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts in History and Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Quinnipiac University, building a strong foundation for a career centered on education, leadership, and personal growth.
In 2020, Christina founded Journey Forward Yoga, a virtual wellness community created to make yoga and personal development more accessible to individuals seeking balance in an increasingly busy world. Through weekly Vinyasa and Yoga Sculpt classes, workshops on topics such as vision board creation, habit building, mindfulness, and intentional living, she helps participants cultivate healthier habits, strengthen resilience, and reconnect with themselves.
What sets Christina apart is her ability to bridge the worlds of education and wellness. She brings the communication, mindfulness, and self-reflection practices of yoga into her classroom, while applying her years of teaching experience to create supportive and empowering experiences for her yoga community. Across both professions, her mission remains the same: to inspire people to embrace growth, move forward with purpose, and become the most authentic version of themselves.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Christina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being willing to do the inner work. The more I understood myself, my values, and what truly mattered to me, the more authentically I was able to show up for others.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was to keep showing up until the work becomes part of who you are. Early in my teaching journey, I was encouraged to treat the practice as something sacred and to trust that confidence would develop through consistency and experience.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
"Become what you hope to teach." As an educator or wellness professional, your greatest influence comes from who you are. Do the inner work. Develop self-awareness, find peace, and continue growing throughout your life. When you genuinely embody those qualities, people can feel it and that's when you make the greatest impact.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Mindfulness, authenticity, and connection are needed now more than ever. A huge opportunity for anyone in a leadership position is to create spaces where people can access these qualities in their everyday lives.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I am hard-working, passionate, and consistent. I strive to create an experience where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and capable of success.
