Her Interview
Ten minutes with Christina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would actually contribute to my great-grandfather and my grandfather and also my dad. They all were entrepreneurs and go-getters. My grandfather owned a trucking company before I was even born. They just taught me that whatever you want to do, you can do it. Just do it and go for it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have foreseen so far is to not give up. That it's not gonna always be easy. But the reward is great. So if you have something that you're going for, a goal that you're going for, do not stop, do not let anything get in your way, and just do your best at everything you do.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice that I would give is you're gonna go through stuff. People are gonna doubt you. People are going to think you don't know what you're doing, but be confident in yourself. If you know what you're doing, and you know what it is that you're going for, just do it, don't let anybody stop you. If there's a no, or someone makes it hard for me, find another way.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include being a woman in a male-dominated field where sometimes you're looked at like you don't know what you're talking about, and starting from the bottom which was not easy. Opportunities include getting into self-driving tractor trailers with Tesla and the tech field incorporating AI and logistics background.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
As far as work, some values that I rank highly are motivation and being dependable. A lot of where I've gotten to is being dependable. People know they can depend on me. In my personal life, it would be trust. That your circle should be people that you trust, and you should also be trustworthy.
