About Christina
Christina Pipkin is the founder of FAY Learning Center in Houston, Texas, a micro-school dedicated to fostering academic excellence while creating a safe space for children impacted by parental incarceration. With over two decades in education, she began her career as a teacher for eight years before transitioning into education leadership and technology roles in the corporate sector. In February 2025, she left her corporate position to pursue her vision of launching FAY Learning Center, an acronym for Fostering and Advancing Youth Excellence, which aims to support entire families through resources, scholarships, and community connections in addition to innovative STEM and exploratory learning. Pipkin earned her doctorate in education leadership and technology from New Jersey City University, now part of Kean Jersey City, her master's degree in education curriculum and instruction with instructional technology from Houston Baptist University, now Houston Christian University, and her bachelor's degree in early childhood development from Spelman College. She is an active member of the Vela Network and serves as recruitment liaison for the Houston Spelman Chapter Alumni Association. Among her notable achievements, she delivered a TEDx talk on providing villages for families impacted by parental incarceration, drawing from her dissertation research and personal experiences.
