Ten minutes with Christina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, continuous learning, and a genuine desire to help others. Growing up between Greece and the United States, I learned early that financial security can profoundly shape a family's opportunities and peace of mind. Watching my father's financial struggles inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
Throughout my career, I have embraced every opportunity to learn, earning multiple professional designations while continually expanding my knowledge through leadership, education, and collaboration. I also believe success comes from having the courage to step outside your comfort zone. Leaving a successful corporate career to pursue an entrepreneurial path ultimately led me to become the first female partner at Jacob William Advisory and later Director of Financial Planning.
Most importantly, I measure success not by titles or awards, but by the trust my clients place in me, the professionals I have the privilege to mentor, and the positive impact I can make through financial education and community service. Helping others gain confidence in their financial future has always been, and continues to be, my greatest motivation.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to stay curious, remain teachable, and always lift others as you climb. I have been fortunate to learn from exceptional mentors who encouraged me to continually grow, challenge myself, and give back to both my profession and my community. Their guidance reinforced that true leadership isn't about personal success, it's about creating opportunities for others, sharing knowledge, and leaving the profession stronger than you found it. That philosophy continues to guide every aspect of my career. That philosophy has shaped my career and continues to inspire my passion for educating, mentoring, and empowering others to achieve their full potential.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the financial services industry is to believe in yourself, stay curious, and never let self-doubt define your potential. Don't be afraid to ask questions, seek out mentors, and embrace opportunities that push you outside your comfort zone. Growth comes from being willing to learn, adapt, and take on challenges, even when you don't feel completely ready.
Financial services has traditionally been a male-dominated profession, but your perspective, empathy, and ability to build meaningful relationships are strengths, not limitations. Lead authentically, continue investing in your education, and never underestimate the value of collaboration and integrity.
Most importantly, remember that success isn't measured solely by titles or accomplishments , it's measured by the positive impact you have on the lives of others. Lift others as you climb, because when we support one another, we strengthen both our profession and the next generation of women who will follow.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities in financial services is making financial planning more accessible, understandable, and relevant to people's everyday lives. While our profession has made significant progress, there is still an opportunity to attract more women and diverse voices into leadership while helping more individuals feel confident seeking financial advice. Different perspectives strengthen our profession and ultimately lead to better outcomes for clients.
I also believe our industry has an opportunity to move beyond transactional advice toward truly comprehensive planning. Clients face increasingly complex decisions involving retirement, taxes, estate planning, long-term care, healthcare, and family dynamics. Addressing these challenges requires collaboration among financial advisors, attorneys, accountants, healthcare professionals, and other specialists to deliver more holistic solutions.
As technology continues to evolve, it will enhance the way we serve clients, but it will never replace empathy, trust, and meaningful relationships. The greatest opportunity for our profession is to combine innovation with personalized advice while continuing to educate, mentor, and inspire the next generation of financial professionals
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my professional and personal life are integrity, service, continuous learning, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I believe success is measured not only by what we accomplish ourselves, but by the positive impact we have on the people and communities we serve.
That philosophy shapes everything I do, from helping clients navigate life's most important financial decisions to mentoring future professionals, volunteering my time through pro bono financial planning, and serving in leadership roles within professional and nonprofit organizations. I believe knowledge is one of the greatest gifts we can share, which is why I am passionate about financial education and empowering others to make informed decisions with confidence.
Whether I'm working with clients, collaborating with colleagues, or volunteering in the community, I strive to lead with empathy, integrity, and purpose. My goal has always been to leave people better informed, more confident, and better prepared for whatever lies ahead.
