Her Story

About Christina

Christina Tillotson is a minister, educator, author, speaker, and spiritual educator whose work bridges spirituality, technology, online education, and personal transformation. A pioneer in online education, she has been teaching and facilitating virtual communities since 1998, helping students, faculty, and organizations use learning management and videoconferencing systems to create meaningful and engaging online experiences. She holds a master's degree in Consciousness Studies from Holmes Institute and a doctorate in Divinity from Emerson Institute, and has served in academic and leadership roles within spiritual education.

For more than 16 years, Christina served as Distance Education Dean for the Holmes Institute School of Consciousness Studies, supporting faculty in developing and delivering online courses within its accredited master's program. She also served as Online Education Dean for the Centers for Spiritual Living and as a professor of facilitating virtual spiritual community. Earlier in her career, she worked as a project manager with the Community Learning and Information Network, where she helped educators and job-training personnel adopt the emerging internet for educational purposes. Her experience has made her a specialist in online learning, virtual community building, faculty support, and bringing spiritual, educational, and arts-based activities into digital environments.

Christina is also the founder of Enhancing Life Unlimited, through which she combines spiritual education, mindfulness, movement, writing, and community-building. She has been an accredited T'ai Chi Chih instructor since 1993 and teaches the practice as a form of moving mindfulness meditation through both in-person and online classes. As an author, she has contributed articles to Science of Mind Magazine, including "Does the Internet Have a Soul?" and "Become a Conscious Conduit of Life's Energy," and is developing her forthcoming book, Connecting Souls: Transcending Loss & Finding Purpose in the Digital Age. Through her teaching, writing, and speaking, Christina explores how conscious living, spiritual principles, technology, and community can intersect to help people find greater meaning and connection.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Christina

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my willingness to pioneer, stay curious, and embrace new possibilities where technology, education, spirituality, and human connection intersect. My journey has been guided by compassion, resilience, purpose, and a deep belief in people’s capacity for growth. I have consistently followed my passion for innovation while ensuring that technology remains a tool for meaningful connection, learning, and transformation.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to trust that when you have purpose and passion, you can find a way forward. I’ve learned to embrace change, remain adaptable, and stay grounded in my values while exploring new opportunities. Sometimes an unexpected detour can lead to a greater purpose, so I believe in trusting the journey and allowing curiosity, resilience, and passion to guide me.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to trust your vision, believe in your abilities, and stay true to your purpose, even when you are entering unfamiliar territory. Pioneering often means creating a path where none exists, so be resilient, confident, and willing to challenge the status quo while remaining open to learning and growth.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I see tremendous opportunities in technology, online education, artificial intelligence, and virtual communities, but they must be developed and used consciously and responsibly. The challenge is ensuring that as technology becomes more powerful, we keep human connection, compassion, consciousness, and purpose at the center. I believe thoughtful, human-centered innovation can expand access to learning, creativity, spiritual exploration, and meaningful connection.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are compassion, authenticity, purpose, integrity, curiosity, service, and connection. I believe in honoring each person’s value and creating spaces where people feel empowered to share their voices, pursue their passions, and find meaning. Faith and mindfulness help keep me grounded, while connection—to people, purpose, consciousness, and the world around us—guides both my personal life and professional work.
