She emphasizes that age is not a barrier, having started her training while pregnant with her fifth child, and encourages other women entering the industry to seek out mentors, admit mistakes, and willingly take on tasks that initially seem daunting in order to grow professionally.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Christine
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would love to say it was myself, but it wasn't, my team. My team has made me... has helped me be what I am. They've encouraged me. I would never feel worthy, and they're like, you got this, you can do this, you're so good at your job, but I never see it. I mean, I see it now, but I didn't really see it in the past, but I do see it now. So it was them, you know, encouraging me and telling me I can do it, but then finally realizing that I can do it.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Doesn't matter your age. I started... I have 5 kids. When I took my class, I was pregnant with my last one. It doesn't matter if somebody in there... I look at other women, and I want to be like them. But... I also bring to the table something different than they do that is also exceptional. I want to be better than them, and so I do everything that I can to learn to be able to do that. Don't be afraid to tell somebody, I want to be like you, I want to learn from you. And if you make mistakes, just own up to your mistakes, but never be afraid to tell somebody that they inspire you, and you want to learn from them. Take on things that scare you. You've got this, you can do this.
