With 15 plus years in her role and over 25 years of industry experience, she acts as a trusted advisor helping clients navigate compliance standards, labor constraints, cost pressures, and sustainability goals while leading hygiene initiatives in high-risk environments. She earned her degree in communications with a minor in journalism and a dual major in business from the University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, Virginia, and has been a member of the Association of Healthcare and Environment Administrators local chapter in the Philadelphia Mid-Atlantic market for 15 plus years. Detreville attributes her success to hard work, self-initiative, taking chances, courage, continuous learning, persistence, and empowerment, noting that as a mother of two she aims to leave a legacy of example for her children. 01What do you attribute your success to?
My success has been built on my own hard work, self-initiative, taking chances, being courageous, working out of my comfort zone, pushing myself to grow, staying curious, embracing continuous learning, learning from other people, trusting my own strengths, knowing when to ask for help, persistence, and empowerment. As a mother of two children, I also feel I have an example and legacy to leave for my children.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't underestimate the power of your own voice, your own experiences, and your own ability to make impact and create change. Leadership is not about perfection, it's about showing up authentically, helping to serve others, and continuing to grow. I'm grateful for all the things I've learned along the way.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include economic pressures, labor enablement, complex and ever-changing healthcare innovation, entry of AI rapidly influencing business, and political decisions impacting regulations. Opportunities include artificial intelligence helping shape productivity, development, and career skills.
