Her Interview

Ten minutes with Christine

01What do you attribute your success to?

My desire to take care of the customer is really important to me. I make sure that our dealers who sell our products and our customers who purchase them are 100% supported. I feel it fully in my heart that every person that I work with wants the same thing - to save the customer money, want what's best for the customer, and want to support them.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never stop working towards your goals. Never give up. Even in a mainly man-focused industry, it wasn't always easy. I was a shop foreman for about a year and wasn't always taken seriously. To overcome that, I never gave up. Don't let the fact that you're a woman stop you.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't give up. Don't take no for an answer. Just keep your eye on the prize, and your head down, and do the job that you were hired and trained to do. Don't let anybody stop you.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include overcoming competition and finding ways to promote our products over others by standing behind our quality, product quality, support, and claims processing. As a remote employee, it is a challenge to know who to go to for assistance and finding the individual or department that can assist you. The company is growing and positions and people change constantly, which is an ongoing challenge.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty would be the top one. I always taught my kids, don't lie, be honest. Even if you make a mistake, people always make mistakes, so own up to it. Correct it if you can, and move forward and learn from it. And just integrity. Doing the best job that you can. Working to the best of your abilities.
