About Christine
Christine Laursen serves as a client manager for a woman-owned accounting firm based out of Houston, Texas. In this role, she manages a portfolio of clients while also mentoring and helping develop a team of about nine members. She has spent approximately eight years in the accounting space, having previously worked at large accounting firms such as PwC and KPMG as well as in the tech industry. Laursen earned both her undergraduate and master's degrees from Georgia State University, completing a double major in accounting and finance before obtaining her master's in accounting. Her early career included travel-heavy consulting work in PwC's capital markets and accounting services group, with assignments in locations such as Wyoming and Virginia, though she has worked remotely since March 2020.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just trust yourself. Faith in your abilities is what will also help other people to see that in you. I'm a very shy person but people will never acknowledge it or recognize it if you don't talk yourself up. Don't be afraid to be confident in what you've done and don't undersell yourself.
