Her Story
About Christine
Nearly seven years ago, I stumbled into the Salesforce ecosystem without knowing it. At the time, I was rebuilding my life, leaving a difficult relationship, navigating homelessness with my two children, and taking summer college classes while searching for work. At that time, I just needed a job. What I found instead was a turning point.
I crossed paths with an amazing woman hiring an executive assistant at a Salesforce consulting firm focused on nonprofits. My background working with nonprofits helped get me in the door. Once, I understood what the company did and what this platform could do, something clicked. I told them right away that I wanted to learn more and get hands-on. They taught me everything I know today, and I took off from there.
In 2021, I earned my bachelor’s degree in sociology. Today, I’m a seasoned, 7x-certified Salesforce expert and 2024 MVP, passionate about empowering organizations through efficient and strategic technology solutions. I’ve become a trusted advisor to social impact organizations of all sizes, helping them tackle everything from data governance to training and adoption to process improvement.
What I love most is helping people, whether that means empowering end users in training, or building systems that meet real business needs. But the work closest to my heart is mentorship. I’m well known as a mentor who has helped women pivot into the Salesforce ecosystem and land roles they once thought were out of reach.
I’m also a co-founder of GEMs in Tech, an organization dedicated to helping women break into tech careers, primarily within the Salesforce world.
I approach technology through a lens of compassion and awareness, because I know firsthand what it means to need a second chance, and what’s possible when someone gives you one.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My biggest piece of advice? The sky’s the limit!
The beauty of tech is that so much of it is self-taught. You don’t necessarily need a degree to break in. What you need is motivation and the ambition to learn. My field runs on certifications, and while they aren’t strictly required, they’re incredibly helpful and there’s a free learning platform that will teach you everything you need to know. If you’re willing to put in the work, there’s no ceiling on where you can go.
Whatever you want to do, there’s a role and a learning path for it. There are real opportunities to grow into financial stability and land your dream job. And here’s what I love most: tech touches every industry. If you’re passionate about fashion, you can work on the technology side of fashion. If real estate is your thing, you can build the tech behind it. Whatever you care about, there’s a way to bring your skills to it.
So my advice is simple, stay curious, put in the work, and don’t let anyone tell you the door is closed. It’s wide open.
