Christine Rappe

Christine Rappe is the Lead Business Office Assistant and Manager at CarMax. In this role, she oversees the business office team, manages associates, and handles all aspects of paperwork and financial transactions for car purchases and sales while ensuring the office runs efficiently. She advanced to this management position after starting as a business office associate and progressing over three to four years, supported by CarMax's emphasis on internal growth. Prior to joining CarMax, Christine spent 17 years at the Virginia Board of Accountancy, where she worked as a CPE auditor and coordinator. She audited certified public accountants to confirm that their licenses remained current and that required continuing professional education hours were completed. After resigning from the state position due to a toxic work environment under new management, she took a six-month break before beginning part-time work at CarMax and transitioning to full-time. With her strong background in compliance from both positions, Christine aims to return to the compliance field in a coordinator, manager, or director capacity, potentially at a hospital or bank, where she can apply her experience to support regulatory standards and assist others. She also contributes to philanthropic causes supporting women with cancer and St. Jude's.
