Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of hands-on experience, continuous learning, and a commitment to helping others. I began my career in hospitality, gaining over ten years of experience in restaurants, operations, and contract management, including organizing a union and negotiating agreements. I then transitioned into the legal field, working as a paralegal and paralegal manager for over four years, specializing in tax law for the past three and a half years. In this role, I manage legal workflows, draft documents, work closely with clients, review medical and educational records, and handle disputes, appeals, and negotiations. My background in mediation, principals of criminal law, and paralegal studies, combined with hands-on work as a home aide for people with disabilities, has strengthened my organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. These experiences, along with my involvement in professional associations like the Massachusetts Paralegals Association, have allowed me to thrive in my field while making a meaningful impact for clients and colleagues alike.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is simple but powerful: don’t be afraid to try new opportunities. Even if it doesn’t work out, the experience will teach you something valuable and introduce you to people who can influence your journey in unexpected ways.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are family, growth, and balance. I prioritize creating meaningful experiences with my young son, who has special needs, and supporting him in ways that make life easier and more fulfilling. I also value exploration and personal enrichment whether through travel, hiking, attending concerts, or enjoying good food, which connects to my culinary background. These experiences not only bring joy and perspective to my personal life but also inform my professional approach, helping me stay compassionate, organized, and thoughtful in everything I do.
