Her Interview
Ten minutes with Christine
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from grit, resilience, hard work, and perseverance because the industry changes constantly and I have to move with it. I also attribute it to my love for helping others, which I grew up with since my dad was a fire chief and my mom was a nurse. I always want to help people fix their situations and see first-time homebuyers achieve their dreams.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't be afraid to hear no. It's probably going to take 10 no's to get 1 yes. As long as you don't take it personally, you can move forward and succeed, especially if you're being real because people work with people they like, know, and trust.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay true to yourself and don't try to be somebody else because it will never work. Make calls, do emails, be on social media, and meet people face-to-face. Don't be scared of no's and stay authentic.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges are that business goes up and down so you have to find a way to make it work at all times, there are a lot of guidelines and rules that change constantly, and you must stay on top of all new guidelines. Opportunities include starting from a different career and finding areas you like better like processing or underwriting, with lots of growth and different departments.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Kindness, honesty, integrity, empathy, and teamwork are most important. I wear my heart on my sleeve and many clients become friends and referral partners for over 20 years. Teamwork is essential because if you don't have your team, you're not anything, and it takes a village to make it work.
