Ten minutes with Christine
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the experiences and opportunities that have shaped both my professional and personal journey. My career progression—from starting as a Customer Experience Associate at Magellan Health to advancing into Claims Resolution Specialist, Business Analyst, and Executive Director of Showers of Grace Ministries—has strengthened my leadership, problem-solving, and commitment to serving others. My work in both healthcare and the nonprofit sector has allowed me to make a meaningful impact by improving mental health services and supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. Above all, my mother has been one of the greatest influences in my life, helping shape the person I am today. I am also deeply inspired by my involvement with Passion LA, whose mission of empowering youth through education and mentorship reinforces my passion for helping others build brighter futures.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Where your heart is, is where you'll be blessed.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to consider the nonprofit sector because it offers a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of others. If you are passionate about serving your community, you will find tremendous fulfillment in helping people overcome challenges and creating positive change. Stay committed to your purpose, and remember that the impact you make on others can be one of the most rewarding aspects of your career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest challenges for our organization is increasing awareness and visibility for Showers of Grace Ministries. Expanding our exposure will help us reach more individuals in need, attract additional volunteers, build stronger community partnerships, and secure the resources and funding necessary to sustain and grow our programs. This challenge also presents an opportunity to broaden our impact and serve even more people in our community.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value serving others with purpose, compassion, and dedication. One of my proudest accomplishments has been helping maintain and grow Showers of Grace Ministries by expanding its operations and strengthening its volunteer base. After earning my Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from UCLA, I knew I wanted a career that was meaningful and allowed me to make a positive difference in my community. For me, success is measured by the lives I can impact and the opportunity to bring hope, dignity, and support to those who need it most.
