Christy Cozadd began her career path with brief work as a cashier at Hardee's and as a CNA before moving into customer service around 2003. She previously worked at a farmer-owned co-op gas station and recently joined Loves gas station in Monte Vista, Colorado, as a shift leader. In her role, Cozadd focuses on overseeing customer service, maintaining a clean and efficient station, and treating customers with the utmost care and consideration to encourage repeat visits. She values staying true to herself and not compromising her integrity despite industry pressures. Cozadd attributes her professional success first and foremost to God, followed closely by her mother, who worked as a gas station attendant for many years and inspired her through example.

01What do you attribute your success to?

First and foremost God, and right behind him my mama. She was a gas station attendant for many years. I went to work with her one time when I was a child and actually got robbed that day at gunpoint. God still looks me get up every day and not be scared of things.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Pick your battles. It's hard but I would say pick your battles.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Picking your battles and be careful not to let the jobs or the industry sway how you would ask or treat people. Stay true to yourself. Don't compromise your own integrity.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Treating the customer with the utmost care and consideration so that they would want to come back.
