Chyna Beasley serves as a Certified Peer Specialist at Thomas University Hospital and Einstein Health Network, where she focuses on behavioral health and advocacy. She began her professional journey in the field around 2019 to 2020 after earning an Associate's Degree in Behavioral Health and Human Services, Applied Science from the Community College of Philadelphia. Beasley completed trainings at Mental Health Partnerships and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services and holds various mental health certifications. Throughout her career, she has presented on mental health topics at the National Institute of Mental Health and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, earning an award in 2015 for her presentation at the National Institute of Mental Health. She is a member of the Mazzoni Center Development Committee and the Postal Transformation Advisory Board at DVH, and she volunteers with Mental Health Partnerships and DBHIDS. Beasley attributes her success to equity and family and advises young women entering the field to never give up and recognize their capability through hard work.

Things are a process and take time even patience.

Don't give up. You're capable of doing anything with hard work, just don't give up.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I do not currently have any. In the past, it would include being triggered.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Self-care and being a support system to others.
