Q

What do you attribute your success to?

Relentless curiosity. I never quite grew out of being a "why?" baby. I love understanding how things work and simplifying the concept as much as I can and sharing that information to curate an educational environment where everyone feels safe enough for vulnerable Q&A sessions.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't sell yourself short- always remember you're your own worst critic and tend to undervalue yourself more than others. Instead, be your future self's best friend.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't give up, and don't think you're any less than anyone else. The insurance and financial industries are super tough, but you're worth all the effort you're putting in, and you deserve to reap the fruits of your labor.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges are just opprotunities you need to figure out how to navigate. A big challenge for me is people not trusting insurance because of those commercials- You know, "I have to spend $6,000 on my deductible before my insurance even starts paying!" There are many potential reasons for that. So, if we can chat, and someone trusts me enough to let me build a connection and talk about all their choices openly, then they'll understand things better, feel more confident, and be happier with their insurance. So, I wouldn't say there are many challenges; it just depends on if someone's willing to open up and have a real talk, or if they're holding back.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I really value transparency and empathy. It's super important for me to get the full picture of a situation so I can actually help. There's a lot of judgment socially. If someone's asking for your help, you should respond with compassion because it takes a lot of courage to ask for assistance. It makes things so much easier for everyone if you just show a little empathy and cultivate a safe place to have these vulnerable conversations.
