About Ciara
Ciara Willis serves as a Benefits Advisor at The ECCHIC Group, an organization focused on helping small to mid-sized employers control health insurance costs. She began her role in July of last year and has been with the company for over a year. In this capacity, Ciara reaches out to business owners and companies to introduce alternative healthcare plan methods that eliminate middlemen and offer direct access to discounted rates. Her educational background includes a certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant, which introduced her to insurance processes, codes, and premiums and sparked her interest in the field. She also works as a tax specialist, drawing on this experience to guide clients through complex decisions.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
A lot of the things that bother us or are challenging is all mental. You just have to learn how to understand that you're gonna get those rejections. You can't let a rejection determine your future. It's like a numbers game. Don't give up.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You can do it, and being a single mom, it can be challenging, there can be detours, but if it's something that you want to do, you can always do it. Once you find your foundation, just don't stop, just keep going. Manifest and keep a good, clear head and a clear path.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
A lot of people are just not educated on how the healthcare system works. They're just used to paying their premium and stuck in their ways. Rejection is a part of the field, you just have to have tough skin. Keep focused, put in the legwork, and it will eventually pay off.
