Her Story
About Cindi
I've been working in remote engineering for about 1-2 years, and it's been an on-and-off journey. In my role, I handle a variety of customer support tasks - I approve ride cancellations, manage ride changes, and assist customers with problems they encounter. I also provide real-time support and updates, and verify insurance and program eligibility. What I'm most proud of professionally is how much my customer service skills have grown. I'm not naturally an outspoken person, but since I started working remotely in customer service, my speaking skills with people have become so much better. This improvement has really helped me in my day-to-day life as well. I love the opportunities that come with working from home - not having to be in a work setting outside of your home where you could face more serious problems. My success comes from my hard work and commitment. I don't stop, I like to keep going and going, and if I don't do something, I keep trying to overcome it. I just don't give up - I don't know what giving up is.

Ten minutes with Cindi
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think my success comes from my hard work and my commitment. I don't stop - I really like to keep going and going, and if I don't do something, I like to keep trying to overcome it. I just don't give up. I don't know what giving up is. That persistence and determination to keep pushing forward no matter what challenges come my way is what has made me successful.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to always have a change in your day and not make every day the same - doing a small change will take you a long way. I was also told not to be scared of problems coming my way, because after a storm, there's always a rainbow. This advice has helped me stay resilient and keep a positive perspective even when facing challenges.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this field is to take their time with life - everything isn't supposed to be rushed. Everything comes with divine timing. Always have a second plan, always have a backup plan, a Plan B. Sometimes you even need a Plan C. But something's always gonna work out for you in the long run. Always try to have something that's gonna work for you in the long run, not just for a short time.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Right now, I really don't have any challenges - everything has been smooth. The biggest opportunities in my field are things like being able to have PTO for 30 days and working from home. I love working from home. These are real opportunities - not having to be in a work setting outside of your home where you could face more serious problems. The flexibility and remote nature of the work are what make it so valuable.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I really value people. I value people because if it's not for them, how am I gonna work? If it's not for the people, I don't work. So I value their opinion, I value what they want, their needs, and their likes. I really value that connection with people and understanding what matters to them.
