Her Story
About Cindy
I have always been interested in finance and the ins and outs of how it works. Once I started in banking, I could see where it would help so many people to explore different opportunities they may not have access to or realize that they even exist, like consolidating loans to consolidate debts, home refinances to help with home repairs, or funding for colleges. My career began when I needed to go back to work and started as a teller. As I saw the opportunities that were within this field, I went from a teller to a banker, to a loan processor, and now I'm working on moving up to be a lending specialist. My typical day is quite busy with many calls about auto loans, personal loans, and credit cards for balance transfers, along with processing the loans and educating people on credit, which is a big part of what I do. Through the company I work for, there are volunteer opportunities that allow me to reach parts of the community that may not normally have access to sit down with a banker or loan specialist, where I can educate them on credit, how to build it, and things to do and not to do. It's very fulfilling for me personally, and being able to just keep climbing upwards with the position I'm in has been rewarding.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to just a drive to help people. That's what motivates me and keeps me moving forward in my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is that there are some customers that you may not want as customers, but if you truly listen, you can win them over. This has taught me the importance of really hearing what people need and being patient, even in challenging situations.
