Her Story

About Cindy

I work in strategic accounts with SFI Health, which is sometimes better known as Clare Labs, a position I've held since last March. My typical day involves client relations and understanding needs, assessing which accounts need what, and pulling from other departments to creatively work with my team on very large accounts with demanding needs. I spend a lot of time on the phone and in meetings with clients, doing strategic brainstorming about their brands, whether they're doctors, practitioners, or businesses. I love that I can bring my nutritional expertise into these conversations because we have top quality products and I can really help them with their strategic needs. After work hours and on weekends, I see my own nutrition clients virtually, many of whom I work with outside of a local gym. It's a very small practice, but I maintain it to keep myself in the field and stay connected to direct client work. What I'm most proud of in the nutraceutical space is getting to see the growth of practices and practitioners. I've watched clients grow from seeing a couple of clients in a basement room to building very successful, lucrative businesses, and I get to support them on that path. Similarly, as a nutritionist, I get to see people make goals and grow in their own personal way, and I'm honored that they've trusted me to be part of their journey, whether it's business and practice growth or personal health goals.

Ten minutes with Cindy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think it's just the pursuit of wanting to do something that I am proud of and that I love to do. I think that's come from myself, to be honest with you, just that passion. I've always tried to lead with integrity, honesty, and loyalty in everything I do. What drives me is being able to be part of people's journeys, whether that's helping a practitioner grow from seeing clients in a basement room to building a very successful, lucrative business, or helping individuals achieve their personal health goals. I love that somebody has trusted me to be a part of their journey, whether it's business and practice growth or personal growth, and I get to kind of take the ride with them.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

When I was in my undergrad at SUNY FIT, I had to interview a woman in a high position for a journalism class. I found this amazing woman who was the CEO of a big advertising company, and she met with me and was so welcoming. She had this really high-up position that I admired at the time when I was in my 20s, and she had this life where she was in jewelry, she was in fashion, and somehow she ended up being the CEO of this advertising company. She told me, 'It's not rocket science, you can change your life anytime you want,' and that advice always stuck with me. As you can see, it ended up being really valuable to me at different points in my life. It always stuck with me because she had many different roads, and it led her to a place where she was happy, even when she didn't think it would go there.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity always comes to mind. I always try to be honest and loyal, and I always try to lead with integrity first. I also think it's important to pursue a life of passion and do what you love to do, because life can be kind of dull otherwise. I've learned that nothing's ever set in stone and you can pursue anything at any time, which is something I try to teach my kids. Growing up in Brooklyn in the 80s and 90s gave me very thick skin and exposed me to different kinds of people, different personalities and ethnicities, such a wide range, and that's helped me tremendously in any line of work.
