About Citlali
Citlali Larruz serves as a Family Support Case Manager at a homeless shelter in Chicago, Illinois, where she works as a social worker supporting families in need. In this role, she motivates families to secure housing and employment, assists with locating daycare and therapists, and advocates on their behalf with government agencies such as CPS and hospitals. Larruz earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Woodruff University in Georgia after ten years of study while working full time and relying on academic scholarships as a DACA recipient. Her commitment to the field stems from her upbringing in a working-class immigrant household where social workers and therapists provided crucial support, inspiring her goal of pursuing a master's in child psychology to become a child therapist. She has also tutored through Chicago Tutor, completed an internship at Debrow, participated in poetry club, and joined the Phi Delta community service fraternity during her studies.
